Community Healthcare and Education Projects- Help needed!

    LIE THIEU ORPHANAGE                                        SISTER SUMALEE'S                        BE THO HANDICAPPED ORPHANS
Vital Links for Humanity, Inc. is now operating 3 medical/dental healthcare projects serving three Catholic orphanages in rural communities near Lai Thieu, Long Thanh and Bien Hoa.  Each are about 1 hr from Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon). 

We have partnered with other organizations and individuals  to provide healthcare and dental care to the children, the elderly, the hill tribe visitors, the staff and elderly of the area. Vital Links provides the funds for medicine, dental  and health care.  The Be Tho orphanage now has 60 physically and mentally challenged children and 70 normal children, ages 1 month to 18, suffering from malnutrition, skin disease,upper respiratory disease, heart disease, severe dental caries, and diarrhea. They also lack the necessary tools to provide rehabilitation services, healthcare, dental care and adequate personal hygiene There are only 15 bunk beds, a few cribs and the rest sleep on mats on the floor.  There is one shower facility and two working toilets.  There is much to be done to help these kids.

We have taken a leap of faith  to provide care for these orphanages.  Now it is up to us to provide the basic medical/dental necessities and anything else that we can provide for them. that will increase their chances of leading healthy and productive lives.

NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!Funding has been obtained by a grant of $15,000 for the new project at Be Tho handicapped orphanage. 

But funds are still needed to continue care at the other orphanage sites.
